The question every host asks. Tell us your guest count, how long the bar's open, and who's drinking — we'll tell you exactly what to buy.
This isn't a random formula. These are the industry standards we use when planning real events — refined after hundreds of celebrations.
The industry baseline. Accounts for the natural rhythm of a multi-hour event. The "pace" adjustment scales this based on your crowd's energy — brunch vibes are different than a late-night wedding reception.
Most beer is sold in 24-can or 24-bottle cases. We always round up — running dry at 9pm is not an option. A split between a light lager and a local or craft option covers most crowds.
A standard 750ml bottle pours about five 5oz glasses. We suggest roughly half red, half white — unless you know your guests tend to go one way.
A 1.5L handle yields about 33 standard 1.5oz pours — roughly twice what a 750ml gives at a better price per ounce. The cocktail count drives how many bottles to buy. Brand selection and full spirit list is something we finalize with you when you book.
Planning a formal toast? One 750ml bottle covers roughly 10 toast-sized pours — accounting for guests who pass. We only include this if you check the box below.
Better to return an unopened case than run short. Most retailers (Total Wine, BevMo, local shops) accept returns on sealed cases. We always tell our clients to confirm with their store first.
